1997 The Gypsy Princess by Phoebe Gilman
Hardcover book with dust jacket. Dust jacket has a couple tiny tears on the top but the book cover and the pages are perfect. Measures 8-3/4" x 11-1/4"- contains 29 pages. Story is about a gypsy girl who gets the opportunity to live in a palace as a princess and finds she prefers her gypsy life after all. ISBN# 0-590-86543-9. The graphics in this book are beautiful! The illustrations were built up in layers of oil and egg tempera on gessoed watercolor paper. This layered technique is what gives the colors their luminosity. The paintings were done at twice the size of the book to allow for extra detail to be added. Thanks for looking!
